Ultra Rare Game of Thrones Xbox One Console (1 of 6) | RetroBroker

Title: Winter is Here: The Mythical Game of Thrones Xbox One Edition (1 of 6 in the World)
In the world of video game collecting, "limited edition" is a term that gets thrown around quite a bit. Usually, it implies a production run of a few thousand units, perhaps a unique colorway, or a bundled game. But every once in a long while, a console appears that redefines the word "rare."
We are talking about the holy grail of Microsoft memorabilia. We are talking about the intersection of the biggest television phenomenon of the last decade and premium gaming hardware.
We are talking about the Game of Thrones Special Edition Xbox One, and believe it or not, you can actually buy one right now at RetroBroker.
A Song of Ice and Fire and Silicon
To understand the magnitude of this piece, we have to look back at the era of its release. The gaming world was buzzing with the anticipation of the Xbox One S and its Ultra HD Blu-ray capabilities. Meanwhile, the entertainment world was held captive by HBO. Game of Thrones was at the absolute height of its power, approaching the explosive finale of Season 6.
To celebrate that season finale, Microsoft France partnered with HBO and Warner Bros. France to create something truly spectacular. They didn't just want to slap a logo on a black box; they wanted to create a tribute to the intricate, mechanical beauty of Westeros.
The result was a console that looks less like a gaming machine and more like an artifact pulled from the Citadel in Oldtown.
The Design: A Mechanical Masterpiece
Visually, this console is stunning. It features a heavy, industrial aesthetic inspired by the show’s iconic opening sequence. The chassis is adorned with large, bronzed metal rings that arc across the body of the system, mimicking the spinning astrolabe that famously maps out the Seven Kingdoms in the show’s intro.
The design features metal protruding from various parts of the console, giving it a tactile, rugged feel reminiscent of the armor worn by the characters in George R.R. Martin’s universe. It is a massive departure from the sleek, flat surfaces of standard consoles.

At the time of its reveal, eagle-eyed fans noted that the elaborate metalwork seemed to cover some of the standard ventilation. While we wouldn't recommend running a marathon gaming session on it, you probably don't have to worry about it overheating like Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons. This system was designed primarily as a trophy—a singular piece of art to display with pride.
Strictly Limited: 1 of 6 Worldwide
The most shocking aspect of this console is its scarcity. This was never a retail product. You could not walk into a store and buy it. You could not pre-order it online.
There are only six of these units in existence worldwide.
Distribution was handled exclusively through a localized contest in France. Three consoles were given away via the Xbox France social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), and the remaining three were prizes offered by Warner Bros. France.
To win one back in 2016, you had to be incredibly lucky, and you likely had to brush up on your French. The contest required liking, sharing, and engaging with French social media posts. There were virtually no restrictions on entry, but the barrier to entry was high simply because the promotion was localized to that specific region.
This wasn't the first time Microsoft France commissioned a hyper-rare, localized exotic console. Earlier that same year, they released a Stark Industries "Iron Man" Xbox One to celebrate Captain America: Civil War. It seems the French division of Xbox had a flair for the dramatic and the exclusive.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity
Because these consoles were prize items rather than retail products, they almost never surface on the open market. Most winners kept them as the crown jewels of their collections. Seeing one in the wild is rare; having the chance to purchase one is almost unheard of.
For the serious collector, this is an endgame item. It represents a specific moment in pop culture history where the biggest show on Earth met the biggest gaming brand, resulting in an object of pure fantasy.
You don't need to scour French Twitter or pray to the Old Gods and the New to find this treasure anymore. We have secured one of these six legendary units.
