Hot Pursuit Mode Returns & Expands!
- Classic Hot Pursuit: Race opponents on tracks filled with regular traffic while evading relentless police cars.
- New Pursuit Modes:
- Getaway: As a racer, shake off the police within a set time limit. As the police, trap the speeder before time runs out.
- Time Trap: As a racer, complete the entire race before time expires. As the police, arrest all speeders within the time limit.
- Multiplayer Pursuit: The thrilling Pursuit mode is also available in multiplayer, allowing players to take different sides or race together against the AI. The PlayStation version uniquely features police back-up.
Introducing Career Mode!
For the first time in the series, embark on a comprehensive Career Mode. Conquer a set of challenges to earn trophies for unlocks, and accumulate money to spend on new cars, crucial repairs, and performance upgrades. In the PlayStation version, the Career mode is divided into:
- Tournament: A series of required races.
- Special Event: Optional races for extra rewards.
High Stakes Races - Bet Your Car!
True to its "High Stakes" title, this game introduces races where you can bet your prized cars. In the PlayStation version, two players can insert their memory cards and race against each other. The winner immediately receives the opponent's car, which is instantly deleted from the loser's memory card – the ultimate racing gamble!
