Asterix & Obelix XXL for the PlayStation 2 is a 3D action-adventure game starring the famous Gallic duo on a journey across the Roman Empire.
After returning from a boar hunt in the year 50 BC, Asterix, Obelix, and Dogmatix find their village raided by Julius Caesar's forces and their fellow villagers captured. The heroes must travel across multiple Roman provinces to rescue their friends and send them back home.
Players navigate 3D levels combining beat-'em-up combat, platforming, and environmental puzzles. Switching between Asterix and Obelix at designated points allows players to use each character's specific strengths to clear obstacles, defeat legions of Roman soldiers, and collect helmets to upgrade combat moves.
