Tales of Destiny for PlayStation 1 (NTSC-J Version) is a Japanese role-playing game featuring real-time action combat. This edition includes the game CD and is tested and fully functional.
A swordsman named Stahn Aileron boards a giant dragon ship that soon comes under attack by pirates. While searching for a weapon to defend himself, Stahn discovers Dymlos, a legendary talking sword that only awakens when the world faces mortal danger. Joined by a group of companions, Stahn sets out across the world to uncover the threat that awakened the blade.
Following Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny combines traditional Japanese RPG exploration with action-oriented battles. Combat takes place on separate side-scrolling screens similar to fighting games, where the player directly controls the main character to move and execute attacks and combos. Remaining party members are controlled by artificial intelligence, with the option to pause the battle at any time to assign new fighting styles.
