Assault Suits Valken for PlayStation 2 is a 2D side-scrolling mecha action shooter set in the 21st century.
As earthly fossil fuel reserves dwindle, the two major political blocs, the Axis of Evil and the Pacific Rim States, wage a global war over territorial rights to the moon. Players take on the role of Jake Brain, a young pilot fighting for the Pacific Rim forces inside an advanced mechanized Assault Suit.
Players pilot a heavily armed Assault Suit across seven varied missions, fighting across space stations, asteroid belts, and planetary surfaces. The suit features directional aiming, boost thrusters for brief flight, a defensive shield, and multiple upgradeable weapon systems including vulcan cannons, lasers, missiles, and a melee punch.
