Story:

Ten years after Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, E.D.N. III has changed. Ice has melted, revealing jungles and deserts. The Akrid are still a threat, and human factions battle over thermal energy (T-ENG). The campaign unfolds across six interconnected episodes, each from a different faction's perspective, ultimately uniting to save the planet.

Gameplay:

Lost Planet 2 is built for cooperative play (up to 4 players, with AI bots filling empty slots). Engage in third-person shooter combat against Akrid and human enemies. Utilize various weapons (machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades), a grappling hook, and Vital Suits (mechs), including a three-person VS. T-ENG now replenishes health and powers the harmonizer. Trade T-ENG with teammates, activate data stations (respawn points and map reveal), and earn combat points. Customize your multiplayer character with unlockable weapons, armor, and gestures.
