The Story:

Hexen is the gripping sequel to Heretic. While the Heretic battled D'Sparil, the other two sinister Serpent Riders invaded your dimension, leaving devastation in their wake. Or so they believed. Three brave humans managed to survive the slaughter and now burn with a desire for vengeance against Korax, the Serpent Rider who remains in their blighted world.

Gameplay Innovations:

• Enhanced DOOM Engine: A fantasy game built upon an improved version of the legendary DOOM engine.
• Heretic's Legacy: Carries over innovations like vertical looking, flying capabilities, and an inventory system.
• Choose Your Hero: Select from three distinct characters:
  • Fighter: Master of melee and brute force.
  • Cleric: Wields divine power and defensive capabilities.
  • Mage: Unleashes devastating magical spells.
  Each character features four unique weapons and varying levels of speed and armor.
• Hub System: A groundbreaking departure from linear level progression. Each episode features interconnected levels accessible through a central "hub" level via portals. This design often requires players to travel back and forth between different levels to solve intricate puzzles.
• Dynamic Environments: Experience weather effects, the ability to jump, earth-shattering quakes, and destructible objects like trees and vases.
• Scripted Sequences: Utilizes ACS (Action Code Script) language for more complex puzzles and dramatic in-game scenes.
